Hi everybody!
I'm a 25-year-old Finnish woman. (Eternally so!!). I live with my husband and two daughters in a little wooden house in Tampere. I'm an English teacher and mainly teach adults.
In my free time I like outdoor life: going for walks, sometimes even jogging a bit and going mushrooming in the forests. I read a lot, mainly English or American detective novels. I also like listening to recordings in which different books (again mainly 'whodunnits', that is detective stories) are read on cassettes.
My children started orienteering last spring. The eldest daughter, in particular, is very keen. My youngest one promised to do winter-swimming with me this winter. I found that invigorating activity again this summer (during one of those cold periods we had in the summer) after a 15-year break. My husband goes fishing and the youngest daughter is keen on fishing, too. She also knows how to clean the fish (she's eight years old!).
My life story may continue later on. I'd also like to hear something from you.

So I did find your pages! This is very nice way to make us write English. I noticed that you were working very early on the morning with these sites, it were good to have some sleep too. It was nice to read about your life, now I know you better - after 5 years. Next message I`ll tell something of myself. Have a nice week.

Lovely to get a message from you. I look forward to hearing more from you. The times shown on this board are American. I wonder who could figure out what time some of us have really been on this site. So, I do get some sleep during the nights as well.
Best regards, Ritva

It was a very pleasant and interesting experience for me, too. I even remembered to ask a student to take a photo of ME instructing how to use a computer. I already sent the photo to a good friend in England!!
Cheerio,

hello
Here I am in Poole Library, England.
I used to live in Pispala, many moons ago, and have worked in an English pub in Tampere, and have taught Einglish in various local establishments. For example, TTKK, Sampola, Hauho, Vammala, and many more.
I miss that lovely sauna at Rauhaniemei, and used to dip into the ice hole, even in -15oC; did I really do that. Now I only swim in the sea (I live very near it) in July and August. I have become a whimp!!
Nowadays, I am working with adults with learning difficulties, but only as a relief worker, which suits me fine, as I can get really involved with our service users (the latest politically correct words for our clients), but don't have to do lots of paer work.
Football (Derby County (out of the doldrums at last!) and blues, rock n roll, are my big loves, as has always been the case. As I am at the library, I am being told that my time has run out, and so an abrupt bye bye.

Dear Poole Pirate The Twitcher
lovely to get a message from you. I'm happy that you finally found this site and I hope you will continue doing so in the future, too.
I'm looking forward to getting new messages from you.
Cheers
Ritva
PS. Rauhanniemi sauna + the dips (4 of them for me per visit) into the icy water are ever so lovely. I found that activity again after 15!! years.
