A couple a months ago Ritva presented at her lesson an English Internet course called "Manhunt". I took this hint and enrolled in this course and paid a 30 euros gift. The course started on 14.2.05 and ended 29.3.05. The course consists of 6 modules and every module consists of 2 listening tasks, 2 reading tasks and 2 other tasks(several vocabulary tasks) and 1 writing task (about 2 A4 pages). There was an one-week time to do this module and after that the next module on the following week and together it meant 6 modules during 6 weeks.
It was first time when I took part in an Internet course and my experience was quite positive. When you made exercises you got your scores immediately by machine. Only the writing tasks was checked and corrected by a tutor. But during the course you had a possibility to ask for the tutor, if there were some problems.
Maybe it was a plot of this course that made me almost forget that I was studing English. This course was totally different than the courses I've used to attend. "Manhunt" is a detective story that starts from Alabama in the USA and continues via London, Paris, Moscow and St. Petersburg ending to Kerava.
It was very interesting and exiting to follow happenings on the both side of the line (police contra criminals) via radio plays (sketches) and then give your own contribution of this play in the writing tasks.
Yes, I liked it and strongly recommend it to everybody whether you like or not about the detective story generally. To my mind it's special.
This "Munhunt" English course will start again in autumn and details about it you'll get in address: pekka.kaartinen@savonia-amk.fi
